I'm super stoked about Anthropologie because I wanted it the most out of all the stores I applied to or interviewed at! There's just something really warm and caring about the atmosphere, an impression that I still have after 6 hours of training this morning. Plus, they seriously make the cutest, most delightful, whimsical trinkets and clothing. Admittedly, I'm more prone to shopping at thrift stores, Target and H&M. I like cheaper clothes; it's just who I am. But I still tip my hat to the Anthro designers because, man, they are NAILING what they do, and you get great quality for what you pay. I really do mean that.
Excited about my new job, excited about all the nice people, slightly nervous about being in a customer service role again after many years at a computer with headphones in (eep!), excited to keep freelancing on the side so it adds up to some kind of full-time income, and...
...excited to have a reason to wear all my clothes again!
I mean, it's my responsibility to wear a really good outfit to work. How fun is THAT? Especially after several months at home in sweatpants. (Not complaining.) And, their style totally suits me -- I mean, they sell overalls! And they won't hate on my fringe moccasins and horse-print sweater. Don't worry, pictures will be shared. (If outfit posts bore you, I give you advance permission to check out from those updates.) But for starters, here's what I was wearing when I landed the job:

I've always wondered about Anthro's policies for their employees' outfits - every employee I've ever met is so intimidatingly cute! (you included, katie!) ;) I don't think I or my clothes would ever be cute enough to fit the bill, but gosh, what a dream job. I love that store! Xx
Congrats! I can't wait for the outfit pics. I worked retail a couple years ago & one of my favorite parts was styling my outfits as well as the customers'.
Very cute outfit! Congrats! Anthro for sure would be the best job! Have fun!
Congrats! Anthro is the BEST. I actually interned there last year in Boston and it was soooo fun. I worked on displays and stuff like that. I really like the people that work there and it's kind of an inspiring environment because everything is so cute and pretty. I think they are a great company. And you will find that the discount is not so bad either :)
Yay! Congrats on the new gig and Hey, sometimes it's okay to spend somethin somethin on yourself right? I can't wait to see what you end up bringing home
Working in retail while I job searched was one of my favorite memories/experiences. :)
Congrats!! That mug picture is to die for...Why have I never been here before?!
good for you!
i'm kind of feel like i have a lot in common with the job hunt thing. i hated job hunting and my job right now isn't my dream job. i keep wanting something more. i want to be more successful. but sometimes you just have to step back and get off your high horse. if you're happy working at anthro, then you've won in the job department.
am i happy in my job? sometimes, yes. most times, no.
you've kinda inspired me to look for a seasonal job somewhere and also work part time at my other job. i like switching things up, anyway. and it's more about happiness than money to me. though the money part is really nice, too. :)
you go girl! that will be a way fun job.
Stumbled on your blog while trying to figure out what to wear to my interview on Tuesday.... It's been hard for me--I had a GREAT job for nearly 5 years but the company crumbled (publicly) and finding a job in that industry is near impossible. Having a degree and work experience, I finally decided to search for something completely different.... ANTHRO it is! And I'm really excited about it :) Any tips??
