TED Talk: Wearing Nothing New

"It makes shopping like my own personal treasure hunt."

Someone who travels to a conference and packs nothing but underwears? And banks on finding new outfits at thrift stores for the entire week? This is a woman after my own heart! I'm not sure I could ever do that while traveling (I would never rely on finding comfortable, cute shoes on demand at a thrift store, as much as I love thrift stores) BUT...I do love her point that fashion doesn't have to be expensive or predictable.

It's only 5 minutes long, so give it a listen!

Could YOU ever travel without packing any clothes?

  1. That lady is my new hero. I don't know if I would have to guts to only pack undies, but I love the idea!

I love that she shops at thrift stores and thinks fashion doesn't have to be expensive, but I would never do it because I don't like the idea of constantly spending money on clothing, even if it's only a few dollars every day.

  3. That's awesome! I definitely don't think I could live like that though, constantly spending money on clothes all to donate right back. However, I did like her attitude of if you feel confident and beautiful then you are and if you don't feel beautiful, chances are you aren't portraying your beauty and happiness to others either.
    Thanks for sharing!

  4. No way. I am basically naked if I am not wearing Gap. I like literally must be wearing Gap at all times.

  6. Did you know a lot of snowbirds do this when they come to AZ?! That's what a couple little ladies told me that I chatted with at a thrift store once. They don't bring many clothes with them, buy some stuff once they get here, and then donate it back before they leave. Kinda cool!

  7. I really like a lot of those messages. For me, I'm finding that I'm a little addicted to buying, so I probably shouldn't do that haha.
