that one time i joined a rowing team...

Yes, it's true. I've gone and signed up for a rowing team. Crew. Regatta. The whole floating shebang.

Starting tonight, me and 19 of my friends will be out on the lake by my house every Tuesday and Thursday for the next 7 weeks until the big showdown on May 18 against all the other beginning teams. Pretty much, this could either be really amazing or be a back injury waiting to happen. I think I meant to do core workouts or something before this all started, but......you know...nope....

In any case, tonight it all begins with a "mandatory float and rowing safety taste." I've been instructed to wear shorts and long sleeves and bring a change of clothes. (I asked if I could wear long-sleeve shorts but no one has actually answered my question yet.) Any party where you're told to bring a change of clothes is bound to be an experience worth remembering, right?

Expect pictures and stories from these shenanigans. And many drunken sea shanties. "Whhaaaat shall we do with the drunken sailor?"

    1. I hope so! I've heard it works the core/legs the most though. So I might just be jello.

  4. I am kind of jealous. How in the world did you find this and how can I get in on that action? (Once I'm not, you know, completely subject to the whims of a very tiny dictator anymore.)
