it began like any other run
shoes tied
spandex in place
ear buds firmly secured
but then,
it is in moments like these that i realize,
i may have taken some things for granted...
forgive me, for noticing you less than i should
& for polishing you less regularly in the wintertime
but just so you know...
i will cross the finish line
with or without you and all your little friends.
may you rest in peace.

That sounds painful! Anything toe related makes me cringe. I've broken three toes and had multiple toenails come off. Haha. So I hope yours feels better soon!
