the negativity monster
(dun dun dun)
also, Lent. unfamiliar? go educate yourself.
i like finding reasons for self-improvement. big fan. and even though i'm not Catholic, i figure Lent is a good excuse as any to drop a bad habit cold turkey for a solid 40 days. because hopefully at the end of that, i won't relapse, right?
anyway, rather than giving up soda or facebook or what-have-you, i've chosen (as previously mentioned)...
the negativity monster
(dun dun dun...dun)
really, i'm as guilty as anyone else. it's just that lately i'm getting (more than a little) tired of everyone running around moaning about how much life sucks and everything's awful and the things i want will never happen to me and why bother trying and yadda yadda yadda.
so, i personally am shutting those thoughts and comments off between now and Easter. (and hopefully for much, much longer after that.)
because really ... what does pessimism profit us? nada. zilch. zip.
we are so blessed. and we have everything in the world (and the eternities to come) promised to us by The Big Guy Upstairs. and guess what? He happens to be really good with promises.
and heaven forbid He thinks i've stopped trusting Him because of any griping or wallowing i participate in.
so...
i, katie e. hawkes, will not whine or complain or profess any pessimistic viewpoints between now and April 24.
(hold me to it, kids.)
...join me?
